3D CAD is one of the most widely used tools in reaching the finished product when producing Race car or Sports car exhausts.
When we invested in CAD technology and Software in 2002 we consulted our top customers in F1 and LMP Sports cars, as a result we now use Siemens Solid Edge ST ; a product which shares similar architecture and file integration to Unigraphics NX and Catia.
It has the ability to share information in both 3D and 2D, so workflow is simplified and a BOM and jig drawings can all be produced in one package, this information can then be transferred to our ISO 9002 compliant ERP Software system.
Using Tube Expert combined with Solid Edge ST to model exhaust packages is simplified as you can make it work as the Exhaust Fabricator does, our CAD designers are also exhaust fabricators this means that we have full integration with manufacturing systems and techniques throughout the company.
It is common place that Race car constructors Design there own exhaust systems “in house”, as they will always have a greater understanding of the car and it’s various systems and like to be able to control sensitive issues such as confidentiality.
We work with the Designers at an early stage in perfecting exhaust layout ,manufacturing methods and material specifications sharing information in several CAD formats; IGES or STEP and DXF being the most common but we can integrate with a whole list of CAD packages.
All of Primary Designs “in house” developed products are designed with Solid Edge and Tube Expert.
